Planning

We provide homeschool planning support to help you get and stay organized. We help with lesson planning, record keeping, ID cards (both student & teacher), and curriculum.

Mentoring

We provide homeschool mentoring to help you get started with the homeschooling process. We help you to create a plan for adhering to state homeschool requirements. We can also help with completing the required paperwork.

Resources

We help you with homeschool resources that can aid in your homeschool journey. We can help with curriculum, offer assistance with homeschool programs and services, and devices for virtual learning.

Meet our board

Vennita Watson, MBA, M.Ed.

President/Executive Director

Vennita Watson, the founder of VHSA, holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters of Education specializing in Leadership of Educational Organizations and is Special Education certified, as well as, certified to teach the core subject areas (language arts, writing, reading, math, science, and social studies). Mrs. Watson also holds a TESOL certificate to teach English to speakers of other languages.. As a former public school teacher, she recognized a need for alternative education options.

Porsche Johnson

Treasurer

Ms. Johnson is an established accountant that has vast financial experience. She came to us eager to help grow our nonprofit dedicated to alternative educational solutions for families. Her financial expertise are imperative to Virtual Homeschool Alliance reaching it's financial goals.

Ellie Baryn

Secretary

Ellie Baryn is a certified teacher who graduated Summa Cum Laude from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor's in English and minor in Spanish. She also studied sign language and is currently studying Hebrew. Mrs. Baryn did a national student exchange in California, where she attended California Polytechnic State University. She is a proud member of the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta.

Virtual Homeschool Alliance is trying to bring the homeschool community together one household at a time. Therefore, VHSA's Homeschool Academy is an integral part of the VHSA family!

In-Person Location (Coming Soon)

Our physical location will be located in the East Texas area and provide homeschool classes to grades PK-8.

Online

Our online side of our academy provides homeschool classes to homeschoolers across the US in grades PK-8.

Group 1: 9am-10am

Group 2: 10:15am-11:15am

Group 3: 11:30am-12:30pm

Vennita Watson, M.Ed., MBA

Program Director/Supervising Teacher

Vennita Watson has been in the education field for 10+ years. She is a both Iowa- and Texas-certified teacher with a passion for thinking outside the box when it comes to teaching. This is what led her to alternative teaching methods. She strongly believes that through homeschooling she can make a greater impact on students.

Latasha Betancourt

Administrative Support Specialist

As a long time homeschool mom, LaTasha Betancourt is very familiar with homeschool education. She garners a passion for seeing kids have fun when learning. Mrs. Betancourt helps to ensure that the students at VHSA's Homeschool Academy are successful in their homeschool journey by staying on top of attendance and grades.

Branita Bush

Instructional Support Specialist 1

Branita Bush brings a new spin to our homeschool team. As a homeschooler herself, she knows many ways to get the students engaged and eager to learn! Although she is new to the instruction side of homeschooling, she brings a new young vibe to VHSA's Homeschool Academy and can't wait to contribute to our students' learning success!
